The Higher Source Rewrites Our Past A Gentle Way to Heal Memories

Hello, friends. I’m Tom Robarge from Higher Source Wisdom.

Today I want to share something that has quietly changed the way I carry old hurts and memories that used to weigh me down. The Higher Source doesn’t just guide us into tomorrow—He can also heal yesterday. There is a simple, loving practice that lets us go back to painful or limiting memories and let the Higher Source rewrite them. Not by denying what happened, but by choosing to feel the scene the way love would have written it. When we do this with faith and gentleness, the old pain begins to fade, the story loses its grip, and new peace takes its place.

This isn’t something new I made up. It’s already in the Bible, just waiting for us to hear it again.

Jesus said it plainly:
“Listen, if you speak to a huge problem in your life—like a mountain blocking your path—and you truly believe in your heart that it’s already moved, without any doubt, then it will be done for you. That’s why I say: Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you already have it, and it will come to you.”He’s telling us to live from the end—to feel the answer as real before it shows up.

The same principle works for the past. If faith can move mountains in the future, it can also move the emotional mountains we carry from yesterday.

Another verse puts it even more simply:

“The way you think and feel deep in your heart—that’s who you really are and what your life becomes.”What we hold inside—our inner picture, our repeated feelings—shapes everything we experience.

When a painful memory keeps replaying in our mind, we keep living that old version of ourselves. But the Higher Source invites us to renew our mind by choosing a new inner picture.

Here’s how I do it, and how anyone can try it.

Find a quiet moment—best right before sleep when your mind is soft and receptive.

  1. Recall the memory that still hurts or holds you back. Maybe it’s a harsh word spoken to you, a time you felt rejected, a failure that lingers, or a moment you wish you had been kinder. Don’t fight it—just notice it.
  2. Now, in your imagination, step back into that scene—but change it.
See it unfold the way love would have written it.
Hear the gentle words instead of the harsh ones.
Feel the warmth of understanding instead of the coldness of judgment.
See yourself responding with peace, or see the other person softened by love.
Let the scene end with everyone at peace, forgiven, connected.
  3. Feel it as real.
Let the new emotions fill you—relief, forgiveness, gratitude, love. Stay in that feeling until it feels natural, like it really happened that way.
  4. Fall asleep in that new feeling.
Don’t force it—just rest in it. Do this night after night until the old memory no longer carries pain when it comes up.

I’ve seen this work in my own life.
There was a time I carried the weight of feeling undervalued in my work—long effort, small return. One night a dream came that reframed it completely: the grind turned into a strong, shining blade being forged.

I didn’t have to force the change. I just let the new picture settle in my heart, and the old feeling of lack began to dissolve. The Higher Source rewrote the story inside me.This isn’t about pretending the past didn’t happen.

It’s about letting love have the final word on how that past lives in your heart today. If a memory still hurts, bring it to the Higher Source tonight.

See it the way love sees it. Feel the peace as if it’s already healed.
Then trust. The Higher Source is closer than your breath, and He is always working for your good.
