The Ride of a Lifetime: Releasing Control and Walking in Love

This morning the Spirit shared with simple truths that led to revelation.

Enjoy.

Try this simple experiment right now, wherever you are:
Decide to take your next breath.

Really intend it. Wait for “you” to make it happen… And watch.

The breath comes anyway. On its own.

Perfectly timed. No central commander needed.

Life is breathing you. It always has been.

That one quiet moment cracked something open for me years ago: I’m not in control. I’m here for the ride.

We spend so much time believing we’re the driver—gripping the wheel, planning the route, fighting traffic.

But look closer.

Habits autopilot us.

Old fears steer us.

Thoughts pop up uninvited and spin whole stories about who we are and what must happen next.

Most days, life isn’t being lived by us; life is living us.

So what came first—the woman or the baby? The chicken or the egg? These old riddles point to the same thing: nothing starts from absolute nothing.

The new arises from the old in tiny, invisible shifts.

A slight mutation in the egg hatches the first “true” version.

The parents were close, but the new form began as a baby, not a fully grown adult.

Life builds on what came before.

And nothing in our world of experience is created before thought.

Before a single thought arises, there’s just pure, silent being—no story, no separation, no “me” versus “world.”

The moment thought flickers in, the whole play begins: labels, problems, desires, the sense of a separate self trying to control it all.

Yet everything moves in circles.

Better ways of doing things evolve out of how it was done before.

New ideas rest on old thoughts like growth rings on a tree.

The old isn’t the enemy; it’s the soil.

No violent breaks, no starting from scratch—just gentle widening, spiral after spiral.

This is how life is supposed to be lived: releasing control and walking in love.

Releasing control isn’t giving up or becoming passive. It’s seeing there was never a separate “you” holding the reins in the first place.

The breath keeps coming without permission.

Thoughts keep arising without authorship.

The ride continues—beautifully, mysteriously, intelligently—whether we approve or not.

When the grip loosens, something else flows in its place: love.

Not the sentimental kind we chase, but the quiet, open presence that’s already here when agendas drop.

Love as allowance.

Love as meeting what is without needing to fix, judge, or escape it first.

Love as the natural expression when there’s no “my” plan to defend.

And here’s the deepest part, the one that brings the most peace:

Even these realizations aren’t mine.

They aren’t conclusions a separate Tom figured out after years of searching.

It’s Spirit moving thoughts, guiding insights, whispering through every breath and every quiet “aha.”

The channel opens, truth flows through, and all I can do is say thank you.

No ownership.

Just gratitude.

If this resonates with you today, pause for a moment.

Watch a breath arrive unasked.

Notice a thought arise and dissolve without you writing it.

Feel the ride continue—carried, seen, known, loved.

You’re not alone in this.

Spirit is the driver, the passenger, the road itself.

Let go. Walk in love.

The journey completes itself.

With you every step,

Tom Robarge
